The Future of Hip-Hop in Higher Learning

This panel examines the ways that rap music and Hip-Hop culture are infused in the public educational system as a means of non-traditional, innovative methods of education. This panel will also address the creation of Hip-Hop courses and scholarships at several prominent Universities such as the Nasir Jones (New York rapper Nas) Hip-Hop Fellowship that is established at Harvard University; the Cornell University Hip-Hop Collection and the increasing popularity of rap artists as adjunct lectures as seen by the hiring of southern rap artist Bun B at Rice University.
