INTERNATIONAL HIP HOP STAGE DEBUTS AT A3C
Global music and media company, World Hip Hop Market, and public relations/social media/music promotions organization,The Bloom Effect have joined forces to co-produce this year’s first ever international stage at A3C Hip Hop Festival, Import/Export. The showcase will unite the talents of a creative and diverse group of lyricists and DJs from Africa, Canada, Asia, Europe and Scandinavia featuring live international Hip Hop music performances and DJs spinning music from around the world. The event takes place at Masquerade on Friday, October 7, 2011 from 7 – 11 p.m.
The A3C Hip Hop Festival takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, October 6-8, 2011 and is the largest Hip Hop festival in the Southeast and on the rise to being an international destination. In addition to live music performances, A3C also features breakdance, graphic art, fashion, film, producer showcases, pro audio demonstrations and music industry panels. The event has become a central gathering location for Hip Hop fans as well as MCs, DJs, producers and anyone else looking to advance their careers within the music industry.
Now in its 7th year, 2011 is shaping up to be their best year ever! Since 2005 the event has featured over 500 of the most influential artists in Hip Hop including: 9th Wonder, B.o.B, Black Sheep, Camp Lo, The Clipse, Curren$y, DJ Premier, Jean Grae, J. Cole, The Juice Crew, Killer Mike, Little Brother, Murs, Rakim, Yelawolf, Rhymefest, Souls of Mischief, Wale, Pill, Lyrics Born and Artifacts, to name a few.
“A3C is a perfect place for a global Hip Hop event like this,” said The Bloom Effect CEO, Fiona Bloom. “An event that unites MCs from a variety of backgrounds, countries and nationalities is exactly the kind of event that we want to be promoting at a festival like A3C. We talked about this for a few years and now it’s finally being realized. As big as the movement’s growing – one international Hip Hop showcase doesn’t really give the international scene the attention it deserves, but we promise to deliver a night of historic measures.”
“We are in a time of discovery, where people in the USA are waking up to Hip Hop’s global influence. These artists are not just a copy of American MCs, but true artists who do Hip Hop in a unique way to them and their home countries.” said Greg Schick, founder of World Hip Hop Market.
“We’re very excited to debut an international stage this year at A3C. Atlanta is definitely ready.” said A3C Artistic Director, Mike Walbert.
This years event will feature a handful of rising global stars including Eternia (Canada), Masia One (Singapore/Jamaica), The Reminders (Belgium/Congo/USA), Shokanti (Cape Verde), Eyezon (South Africa) and LidoLido (Norway). DJ Boo (Philippines) will be on the decks and the event will be hosted by local radio personality DJ 4th Wurld.
This year’s event is sponsored by Fusicology, Nomadic Wax, Friends We Love and The Movement.
