I Wear The Crown – MC Competition & Artist Showcase Announced

Presented by Heart of the Hood and UniqueSquared.com, this event will both showcase some of Atlanta’s best independent hip-hop artists and provide a platform for MCs to battle for props and prizes.

It all happens Friday, October 2nd @ The 529, and is hosted by ATL’s own Mojo Swagger. The night will feature special performances by Ekundayo, The Broady Champs, Rock Most, Stahhr, The Beat Gods, a production showcase by Illastrate, an appearance by B-Boy Quic, and DJ Quiz on the wheels all night.

Competition Details:

MCs will compete in four different rounds during the night. The first three rounds will be scored by the judges, and the last round will be scored by the crowd:

Round #1: 16-bar freestyle cipher
Round #2: Freestyle about a topic for 16 bars
Round #3: MCs pair off and perform a back & forth routine
Round #4: Perform over a live drummer
