Tech N9ne

Don’t sweat the TECH-nique. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Aaron Dontez Yates, better known as Tech N9ne has been gracing the hip hop world with his emotionally driven, hard cores lyrics for over 10 years. Tech N9ne (as in TEC-9 semi -automatic handgun) whose name was given to him by fellow Kansas City rapper, Black Walt  because of his fast paced delivery, knows the true meaning of being independent.

Though Tech N9ne was a former member of the group Black Mafia and The Regime , it wasn’t until he launched his own label, Strange Music, in 1999 with his business partner Travis O’Guin that Tech N9ne was able to truly express his “independent” creativity.

Producing such albums like 2002′s Absolute Power , 2006′s Everready, and 2011′s All 6′s and 7′s which the underground legend had collaborations with mainstream artist such as Lil Wayne, B.o.B, and Busta Rhymes. Tech N9ne is often quoted thanking his fans, who are called “Technicians” for their continued support. Since his March 13, 2012 release of his six-song EP, “KLUSTERFUK”, Tech N9ne has been quite busy, headlining his own tour Tech N9ne: Hostile Takeover Tour 2012, and various meet and greet appearances for his “Technicians”.

Tech N9ne’s music is not just limited to your iPod, but video games such as Madden NFL 2006 , movies including “Gang Related” and “Alpha Dog” , and more recently played over the speakers during the 2012 Home Run Derby. The derby which took place in Tech N9ne’s hometown of Kansas City, played “I’m a Playa” from the album Absolute Power during Prince Fielder’s turn at bat, as well as the instrumental “Like Yeah” from 2008′s Killer album. Tech N9ne continues to push the limits, lets see what he has in store for his Technicians for A3C!
